Update on Facebook Scavenger Hunt...

Hi all,

I had scheduled the Facebook Scavenger Hunt post to post on 12/1 per instructions from the person running it.  However, I didn't check on 12/1 that it was still going on, and apparently it isn't.  Boo!  So I've deleted that post.  I apologize to those who went in search of stuff and didn't find anything.

Here is my part of the hunt:

Enjoy and sorry again about the confusion!

Tutorial - Making Puffy Stickers (Freebie)

This is a very easy, quick method of making puffy stickers in Photoshop CS.

I’m making these stickers quite large – 12x12 canvas, 300 ppi. I’m also just using random shapes, including some pretty flowers from Al Ward at ActionFX. If you make your stickers smaller, you’ll want to adjust your blending option sizes, specifically your stroke size.

Here I’ve created a new document, added a shape, rasterized the shape, and added a random layer style (DW’s Glass Styles are used in this tutorial). Make sure to use a nice bevel, drop shadow that’s dark but not far from the object, and a large white stroke.
Photobucket

If the style you use on your shape doesn’t have drop shadow, bevel, or a white stroke, add them.

Once you have your blending options as you want them, create a new layer. Move the new layer to below your shape layer. Left click once on the shape layer, then Ctrl+O to merge the 2 layers.

Now add more blending options:

Create a new layer, move it below, then merge again.

For a third time, add blending options:

Merge the layers a final time.

And that’s it! Image > Trim by Transparent Pixels, and then you have a sweet puffy sticker to use in your layouts.

I made 6 puffies using the above method. Download them here. Enjoy!

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial. Ideas for future tutorials, requests, comments, and questions are welcome in the comments or at maitri@mchsi.com.

Newest product @ Divine Digital

New at Divine Digital is my full digikit Maitri's Duncan.  It's in honor of my soon-to-be born son!

I wanted to do a kit that would work for baby boy layouts, but also for other layouts that incorporate blue as well.  And of course, you know me, I love orange!  So when I saw the palette at Kuler, I snatched it and ran away giggling like a schoolgirl.  I think the kit turned out rather well!

It's available here for only $3.

The kit contains 10 papers, a full frayed alpha, and:
~ An arrow

~ A basketweaved mat

~ A string of beads

~ Two bow wraps

~ Two brads

~ One button

~ Star confetti

~ Three different trims - eyelet stitching, filigree, and lace

~ A cute fabric flower

~ A single frame and a double frame set

~ A frayed word art patch

~ An orange gem

~ One single curly ribbon and a curly ribbon cluster

~ A stitched star

I hope you enjoy it!

I've also added my Artist Within and Black Cherry Chinoiserie kits to the Divine Digital catalog.  Click the images to see more.
